GIS/Harvard Reference Style

References are cited with Harvard reference formatcommonly used in the social sciences. (There is also a Harvard Referencing Generator in the Google Chrome Web Store).

NOTE: Harvard reference format is used by the leading GIScience journal, the International Journal of Geographical Information Science, (IJGIS), published by Taylor & Francis. Citations in the text and entries in the list of references should follow the IJGIS format:
The reference matter follows the text and consists of appendices and the list of references. Appendices, if any, precede the references. Pagination of the appendices and list of references continues consecutively from the thesis text in Arabic numbers. Each appendix begins on a new page. The list of references also begins on a new page.
