Publishing Resources

The University Faculty Handbook includes information on Promotion and Tenure in Chapter 2, pages. 15-25. Section IX.A.2.b. and IX.A.2.c. contain information regarding expected peer-reviewed work and alternate scholarly work examples. This guide focuses on subscription resources through B.D. Owens Library and select freely available web resources related to journal publishing.

This guide includes resources subscribed to by Northwest Missouri State University, UlrichWeb and Cabell's, and the Directory of Open Access journals. Depending on your department/discipline requirements for Tenure and Promotion and your status in the journey the open-access resource may not be of significant use. Both Cabell's and Ulrichs include scholarly publications suitable for consideration and will help in determining publications with appropriate audience, timelines, and scholarly quality for your needs.

For assistance with additional publication types, please contact your department librarian.
