If the Status of the book on the results page is DUE XX-XX-XX, that means that this book is checked out.
You can check the catalog to see if there are multiple copies of the book.
If there are no other copies for you to check out, you have two options.
The first option is to put a hold on the book that you need. Requesting the book will prevent the patron who currently has the book from renewing it any longer than the due date. Once the book is returned, it will be placed on the hold shelf at the Library Services Desk for you to pick up.
To do this, hit the Request button under the item record in the B.D. Owens Library catalog.
You will then be prompted to enter Your Name and your Unique Campus ID (your 919# with NW at the end). Hit Submit.
Next, fill out the cancel if not filled by date box. Your request will be canceled if we do not receive the book by the date that you need it. Hit submit to finalize the request.
You will receive an email when the book is ready for pick-up at the Library Services Desk in B.D. Owens Library.
If you cannot wait until the book is returned, you can instead request the book via MOBIUS. Keep in mind that this process can still take 3-10 days.
First, search the title in the MOBIUS catalog.
Once you find the book you want to request, click the Request It button.
Next you will be prompted to choose your library cluster. B.D. Owens Library is in the KC-Towers cluster. Once you've selected your cluster, click Submit above information.
Now, enter your first and last name, along with your 919# with NW at the end. Select the pick-up location in the dropdown menu and hit submit.
When the book arrives, you will receive an email notifying you that you can pick it up from the Library Services Desk.
