Boolean Operators Tips

Using your combined words, phrases, and ideas list, create a search strategy with a minimum of 3 keywords/phrases using AND/OR to find more information on your topic.  

  • Use AND to connect topics 
  • Use OR for synonyms or related terms and surround with parentheses 
  • Use NOT for the words you don't want include in your search. 
  • Place quotations marks around two or more words that you want to be searched together 

Example: (Onedrive OR "Google Drive") AND Cybersecurity
