Academic Integrity Tutorial (APA Style)

Being authentic

What research practices do NOT show academic integrity?

Having someone else write part or all of your paper for you.
Why? This practice showcases someone's else's learning... but not yours.
Quoting from a source without citing the source.
Why? Doing so implies that you really are that person (with their knowledge)...
but you're not.
Paraphrasing a source without citing the source.
Why? It implies that the paraphrase is your own thinking or data... but it's not.
Copying code, documentation, objects, or components from another source.
Why? It implies that it is your own concept or work... but it's not.
