1) Abstract, Introduction: summary, research question, hypothesis, objectives
2) Background Review: previous publications that provide the scientific context of the study
3) Materials and Methods/Methodology: components of experiment design. Includes exact materials and techniques used so the study can be evaluated (or replicated, if needed)
4) Findings/Results: essential data are represented by statistics, graphs, or tables
5) Discussion: narrative about the data
6) Conclusion: recommendations for future studies
