What is a DOI?

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string used to identify a journal article or other source. If a DOI is listed, use it rather than a URL.

A cited doi begins with the number 10. A full link to a doi includes the domain name dx.doi.org/
